EKF introduces the SC3-LARGO, a rich featured high performance CompactPCI® Serial CPU board, equipped with a 5th generation Intel® Core™ processor. The powerful quad core CPU also contains an advanced graphics controller. The SC3-LARGO 4HP front panel is provided with two Gigabit Ethernet jacks, two USB 3.0 receptacles, and two mDP connectors. Local expansion mezzanine cards are available for additional I/O, configured as an 8HP F/P assembly. The generous memory capacity of up to 32GB ECC RAM is divided in a soldered half, and an SODIMM module.
As mass storage device, several low profile mezzanine modules are available, either M.2 (NGFF) SSD, Micro SATA, mSATA or CFast™ based. In addition, the on-board SATA 6G RAID controller allows for powerful mass storage solutions via the CompactPCI® Serial backplane. With four Gigabit Ethernet controllers, the SC3-LARGO is optimized for demanding IoT networking applications, including IEEE 1588 (Precision Time Protocol). A TPM 2.0 module is provided - the highest level of certified platform protection. The UEFI firmware supports Secure Boot and Measured Boot, and the processor accelerates encryption via AES-NI.
A variety of expansion cards is available, e.g. providing legacy I/O such as RS-232, and additional PCI Express® based I/O controllers such as SATA, USB 3.0 and Gigabit Ethernet, and also a third video output. Typically, the SC3-LARGO and the related mezzanine card would come as a readily assembled 8HP unit. The SC3-LARGO is a native CompactPCI® Serial CPU card, suitable for usage in a pure CompactPCI® Serial environment. Due to its generous backplane capabilities (22 x PCI Express® lanes, 6 x USB, 7 x SATA/RAID, 2 x GbE), very powerful industrial systems can be built. EKF offers also ready to use CompactPCI® Serial systems for the SC3-LARGO. The SRS-BLUBOXX e.g. accommodates up to four CPCI-S peripheral cards in addition to the CPU board and is well suited as a rugged solution for many industrial applications.
